He may be the son of the most wanted man in the world who is prepared to die with every step he makes, but Omar Osama bin laden won't sacrifice his life for his beloved british wife whom he married months ago. The British woman who married bin laden said she is ready to divorce because of fears she and her husband will be killed, a report said Wednesday.

"We are both in fear of our lives," Jane Felix-Browne told Britain's biggest selling daily The Sun. "People are opposed to my marriage because I am British. I wasn't prepared to see the man I love die.

"That is why we have decided to end our marriage."

Felix-Browne, 51, who lives near Manchester in north-west England, attracted considerable media attention when news of her marriage to Omar Osama bin Laden, 27, was made public in July this year.

She was quoted as saying by the newspaper that Omar, a scrap metal dealer who said he has not been in contact with his father since 2000, received threats in a call to his mobile phone last week.

"Omar knew who it was on the phone but he wouldn't tell me. After the call he said he felt both our lives were in jeopardy," said the five-time married municipal councilor, who uses the Islamic name Zaina Mohamad.

The wealthy bin Laden family were also said to be concerned by the implications of him being married to a British woman and the loss of business through their global network of contacts, she added.

The fourth-eldest son of the spiritual head of Al-Qaeda, who met his bride while horse riding at Egypt's pyramids in April last year, was quoted as saying: "This marriage is now over."

"I don't want a divorce but there are serious reasons for this break-up that I can't talk about. I adore being with this woman. But we can't stand up when the waves from the sea are coming to wipe us out." (AFP-Naharnet)
