Sofia Essaïdi is a Franco-Moroccan singer. She was born in Casablanca, Morocco on August 6, 1984. She recently moved to Paris to pursue her studies in economy and management at Université Paris-Dauphine (formerly Université Paris IX).
From August 30 to December 13, 2003, she participated in the show Star Academy, becoming a semi-finalist. From March 12 to August 7, 2004, she participated in the Star Academy tour, going to Beirut (Lebanon) and Papeete (on the island of Tahiti, in French Polynesia), where she celebrated her 20th birthday.
