Jentina is a British pop singer and rapper. She sites Missy Elliot, Timbaland and Nas as some of her influences. After two top 30 chart hits, she was dropped from her record label before her debut album could be relased in the UK.
Biography and Music Jentina was born in a caravan in Woking to a Romany family. She grew up in West Moseley, Sussex, alongside 13 brothers and sisters. By seventeen she had moved to work in London and got her first record deal at just 19 years old. After a heavy advertising campaign and features in various UK music magazines - notably NME - her debut single 'Bad Ass Strippa' reached number 22 in the UK singles chart. Her label restyled Jentina and she then released her second single 'French Kisses', written by Cathy Dennis. This entered the chart at number 20. Jentina also recevied bad publcity due to comments on The Chris Moyles Show and her performance on CD:UK. Jentina released another single after this in Italy only, Mysterious. With little promotion, it reached the Top 30 in Italy. Her debut album 'Jentina' [1] was then released, also in Italy. With little success, she was dropped from her record label, and the album remains unreleased in the UK. Fellow British rapper Lady Sovereign wrote a parody of 'Bad Ass Strippa' entitled 'Sad Arse Stripper' [2], which gathered a cult internet following. Discography
