Prominent Lebanese singer Ragheb Alama recently held a grand performance under the title of ‘Fling Spring’ in Jordan at the Golf Club, which was marked with extraordinary success. Over five thousand people attended the concert, mostly college students

According to the London based Elaph, upon his arrival to the concert area crowds of fans stormed towards the singer to get his autograph and take pictures with him. The moment the singer got on stage he began his two hour performance singing a collection of his most popular hits.

On a different note, the singer recently filmed an episode for the popular weekly program “Taratata”, which is aired on the Dubai satellite television channel. The episode will air on May 6. The singer had invited Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi to be his guest on the show and the two sang a number of duets together.

During his last visit to Cairo Alama met with the general manager of ‘Rotana’ Production Company, Salem Al Hindi to discuss the possibility of joining of the company, however talks reached a dead end.

The singer previously tried to negotiate a contract with ‘Rotana,’ without positive results.

Ragheb said one of the main reasons the two parties failed to reach an agreement was that ‘Rotana’ requires complete exclusivity to the rights of its members music.

Ragheb said it is essential that his music videos are aired on all Arab music channels to achieve success. He does not feel it is right for any particular company to have this type of control over a singer's music, added Ragheb.

Ragheb asserted that he respects the company's owner Saudi Prince Al Waleed Bin Talal, but refuses to join a company unless he is comfortable with its conditions.
