Moroccan singer Samira Said’s health has deteriorated after a severe bronchial infection, which she thought at first was a bad cold or a minor flue. The singer was taken to hospital and underwent several tests, which resulted in the necessity to operate due to the severity of the infection in her tonsils.

According to the London based weekly, Laha, Samira did not pay much attention to doctors requests to surgically operate, stressing that she fears such an operation may have a negative affect on her vocal capabilities. The singer has not given her approval or refusal for the operation until this time, wanting to make sure the outcome will not be a negative one.

Samira was recently forced to remain home as a result of the infection and was under strict supervision by doctors after she began experiencing a very high fever.

Close friends of the singer have revealed that people’s envy of the singer was the reason behind her sudden health deterioration, especially after her latest album has gained more success than any other album released at the same time.

Samira was able to conquer the number one spot in the record market with her latest album "Qaweeni Beek" (Make Me Strong), after an absence from the scenes that lasted two years. The sales of Samira’s album is considered the highest in most Arab countries, like Lebanon, Egypt, the UAE, and many others.

The main song of the album "Qaweeni Beek", which is also the title of the album, is also taking over number one spots in most song contests on different satellite music channels. Samira had finally released her new album under the production of Alam El Phan Production Company. The album had faced continuous delay in the past few months due to last minute changes the singer made.
