Egyptian singer Tamer Husni will return to the music world in mid-December after serving a jail sentence for forging official military documents. According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, the grand event will be organized by Egyptian tycoon Najib Sweiris in Cairo after he succeeded in getting the military’s permission for Tamer to sing. His company MobiNil will sponsor the event. Tamer’s return to the scenes will be accompanied by a major advertising campaign financed by MobiNil. The singer will be filming a series of commercials for the company, which will be screened on different Arab satellite television channels. Egyptian General Hussein Tantawi said the military has given its approval for Husni to give a performance at the Chinese Hall in Nasr City. Tamer is currently serving in the military and he is not allowed to hold concerts without the military’s approval. Once the military gave the singer the green light to perform, preparations began for the big event that is expected to achieve tremendous success. Recently, Husni attempted to return to the cinema in secrecy. Sources revealed that the singer began work on his new film “Salma and Omar,” starring Ezzat Abu Ouf, Rami Sameer Waheed, and directed by Akram Fareed. The film has been postponed for eight months, and now Tamer hopes to complete the film in the shortest time possible. Although, by resuming his acting career Tamer may have violated the terms of his probation, which states that he must receive permission for such activities. Tamer and his best friend Haitham Shaker were imprisoned after they were found guilty of forging military documents to avoid military service.
