The convoy contains 22 trucks escorted by the KRCS members who will coordinate with the Lebanese Red Cross and relief committees to distribute the aid, Al-Meraj added.
He said since the the Israeli assault on Lebanon the KRCS operated 266 trucks and seven planes which carried, including this shipment, an estimated total of 5444 tons of aid, out of which 64 tons were transported by air.
The KRCS thanked everyone who supported the aid process in Lebanon especially Kuwait's municipality, land customs office, health ministry, defense ministry which helped ease the aid operations via air in addition to the companies, volunteers and Kuwaiti people.
KRCS relief efforts came after His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad AL-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti cabinet issued orders to provide immediate relief to the Lebanese people. (end) mas.aa. |
