Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi has just held a successful concert at the Jesuit University in Lebanon. The singer donated all the proceeds to students at the university who are unable to pay their tuition fees.

After the concert, Haifa headed off to Cairo to resume recording the songs for her upcoming album, which is scheduled for release during the summer season.

According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, the Arab satellite music channel Melody has begun airing Haifa's latest music video "Al Wawa," which has been much anticipated by viewers around the Arab world.

Wahbi was recently honored by the International Union in charge of the ‘Miss Lebanon’ beauty pageant.  Haifa was presented an award for her drive to succeed from the moment she launched her career, and for her extraordinary beauty.

Haifa was designated the ‘most well-known international Arab star.’ Haifa was crowned by the Union as ‘Miss Beauty Queen of Arab Stars,’ or ‘Miss Universe’ of the Arab world.

In a press release Haifa's business manager denied recent rumors about the singer's intent to wear an Islamic headdress, the Hijab. The release said the rumor was based on remarks the singer had allegedly made to the London based daily, Al Quds Al Arabi, although Haifa has not been interviewed by the newspaper in several months.

Haifa stressed that she holds great respect for the Hijab, but has never insinuated that she plans on wearing one.

Rumors claimed that Haifa said. “I may be inspired to do so (wear a Hijab) at any time, and the matter is in God's hands.”
