After receiving death threats from an anonymous man, Egyptian actress Shireen Seif Nasr has acquired several body guards to accompany her.
The man threatened to throw boiling water in Shireen’s face, if she did not pay him a ransom of 50 thousand Egyptian pounds.
According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, Shireen said that for days she could not sleep at night in fear and realized the only way to be safe was to have personal body guards.
The actress has also limited her public and social appearances, not wanting to encounter the man who threatened her. Shireen encountered similar threats in the past.
These recent threats coincide with those received by Egyptian actor Adel Imam, singer Midhat Saleh, and belly dancer/actress Fifi Abdo. Police arrested the individual responsible, whose claimed that their work was insulting to Islam.
On a different note, Nasr has refused to make amends with belly dancer Fifi Abdo and will not drop the charges against her.
Shireen asserted that she will not forgive Fifi for badmouthing her on live television and embarrassing her.
Shireen filed a lawsuit against Fifi, after the latter publicly insulted her on the Lebanese Broadcasting Company LBC program “Li Man Yajro’ Fakat” (For those who dare only). Fifi stated that Shireen was a “gold digger” and wanted to reunite with her ex-husband Egyptian singer/actor Midhat Saleh, only to take his money.
Shireen said that she was shocked by Fifi’s accusations, although it is not the first time the dancer publicly insulted her. Also, she questioned why Fifi insists on making false and hurtful statements.
Shireen said she will not respond to Fifi’s inappropriate remarks, and will leave the matter for the court to decide.
