A Cairo Family Court has declared that Lina, the young daughter of Egyptian interior designer Hind Hinawi, is in fact the biological child of young Egyptian actor Ahmad Fishawi.

Hind had appealed an earlier ruling against her. According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, the court had based its decision on the fact that the Islamic faith does not recognize intimate relationships out of wedlock, or the children born from them.

Hind testified that the two were secretly married. Ahmad admitted that he had an illicit affair with Hind, but claimed that they never secretly married. However, DNA test do not lie.

After the court announced its ruling, Hind stated that she is “very grateful that the truth is finally out,” but expressed her disappointment that Ahmad is the father of her child.

Ahmad has filed suit against Hind for financial compensation, including court costs.

Hind’s family stressed that they filed for an appeal to ensure that their daughter receives her legal rights, and to prove that Ahmad is the father of her child.

Ahmad expressed his guilt over the nature of their relationship, and for behaving in a way that is against the teachings of Islam. He has requested the consultation of an Islamic preacher to guide him.
