The Baath Party said an unidentified assailant has hurled a grenade at its office in Beirut's Ras Nabaa district and called for speedy investigation into the attack expose the culprits.

Baath Party leader in Lebanon Fayez Shukur said "the cowardly attack coincides with the march towards reconciliation, dialogue and stability."

"The criminal attack," Shukur added, "targets security and stability in Beirut and Lebanon."
