Interior Minister Ziad Baroud said on Monday delaying reconciliation efforts in Beirut led to the overnight grenade explosions in some of its mixed neighborhoods.
"Reconciliation in Beirut must take place as soon as possible," Baroud told Voice of Lebanon radio station.
Baroud added that stabilizing the security situation is linked to achieving progress at the political level.
He noted that the situation in Tripoli has improved following the reconciliation which enabled the security forces to carry out their duties. |
