Clashes broke out between the Soloh and Jaafar clans in east Lebanon's town of Baalbek, but no casualties were reported.

Army patrols intervened and contained the clashes that broke out in the Shrawneh district when members of the Shiite Jaafar clan tried to force the local Sunni Mukhtar, Khaled Soloh, to leave the district.

Soloh returned to his residence Friday, but the situation remains tense, witnesses reported.
