Grand Mufti Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Qabbani on Thursday denounced the "terrorist crime" that killed Saleh Aridi of the Lebanese Democratic Party.

Qabbani, in a statement distributed by his press office, said the crime also "aims at dealing a blow to civil order and unity of the Lebanese People."

He urged security forces to intensify efforts with the aim of arresting the culprits and safeguarding social peace.

The Mufti cautioned against a resumption of the serial explosions targeting political figures backing the state concept.
