Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea on Tuesday described the Sunni-Alawite reconciliation in Tripoli as a "victory for the Lebanese people."
"The reconciliation is a big victory for both the Lebanese people and Lebanese leaders … particularly MP Saad Hariri and Premier Fouad Saniora," Geagea said from Maarab.
"Violence and fighting are useless … at the end, reconciliation is indispensable. So why don't we reconcile from the beginning?" Geagea asked.
He reiterated the need for national dialogue and called on President Michel Suleiman to convene all-party talks "as soon as possible." |
