The editor of an independent Egyptian newspaper has said that prosecutors questioned him and two colleagues about their paper's reporting on the case of slain Lebanese singer Suzanne Tamim.
Ibrahim Mansour said Tuesday that he and two journalists of Al-Dustur daily were accused of violating a ban on reporting on Tamim's killing last month in Dubai.
The ban was imposed after media speculated on ties of high-profile Egyptians to the death.
Dubai authorities said they arrested a 39-year-old Arab man in the case, while Egyptian security officials confirmed an Egyptian was held at the request of the Emirates.
Al-Dustur reported that the man was a former Egyptian police officer, allegedly hired by a key businessman and a leading politician.(AP-Naharnet) |
