A bomb placed in a garbage container near Fatah offices in the Palestinian refugee camp of Ain el-Hilweh exploded overnight, raising tension in the shantytown.

Fatah official Col. Abu Nidal Zahiman was passing through the area when the bomb went off. He was not hurt.

In a separate incident, a concussion bomb exploded around 10pm Sunday between the neighborhoods of Bab el-Tabbaneh and Jabal Mohsen in the northern city of Tripoli, causing no damage or casualties.
