Lebanese judges went on a one-day strike Friday to protest what they called "unjustified attacks" against the judicial system.

The judges' decision came during a meeting of the Higher Judicial Council on Thursday in which they agreed to suspend all court sessions on Friday.

The strike was a symbolic expression of the judges' condemnation of the exposure of the Lebanese judicial system to "frequent and unjustified attacks."
