Cabinet Minister Ibrahim Shamseddine said Saturday he represents independent Shiites who are not affiliated with political factions.

Shamseddine, minister of state for administrative development, said his relations with Hizbullah and AMAL are "good".

"Possible differences would be over political issues that should be tackled within the cabinet and the proper constitutional frame," he noted.

He described Premier Fouad Saniora's cabinet as "exceptional in an era full of tension."

"There should be no security vacuum," Shamseddine stressed.
