Iraqi President Jalal Talbani criticized Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah's call for resistance in Iraq and advised him to focus on settling Lebanon's domestic problems instead of advising others.
Talbani recalled that several Hizbullah leaders have had relations with Iraq.
The Iraqi Dawa Party, according to Talbani, played the major role in "spreading the Islamic Dawa (call) in Lebanon and some Hizbullah leaders were Dawa Party members."
"Unfortunately, Sayyed Nasrallah's information was based on erroneous evaluation that the United States is for the permanent occupation of Iraq," the Iraqi President said.
"On the contrary there is a major campaign in the United States now that advocates withdrawing the troops from Iraq" he added.
Talbani said if "our Lebanese brethren have an advise for us, let them relay it through Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, with whom we have good relations." |
