An earthquake, followed by a series of after shakes, rocked south Lebanon Wednesday, causing no casualties but inflicting minor damage and sparking panic among the population.

The state-run National News Agency reported that the earthquake registered six degree on the Richter scale.

After shakes registered three degrees, the report added.

The development started panic among the population in villages of south Lebanon.

Several families evacuated homes in the village of Srifa and resorted to fields, fearing renewed quakes, the report added.
