Prime Minister Fouad Saniora has congratulated Future television employees after the station, forced off the air by Hizbullah last Friday, resumed broadcasting on Tuesday.
"Your work says freedom of speech is against weapons," Saniora told FTV employees in a televised address. "Only the Lebanese Army and security forces should have weapons to protect the society in line with the law," Saniora stressed. Describing as "serious" pointing weapons at Lebanese, Saniora confirmed weapons deployed in Beirut are also deployed elsewhere. "We do not accept and would not accept the deployment of weapons in Beirut," he warned, adding that "we should not allow anyone to drag us into internal confrontation." |
