Trad Hamadeh, the resigned Minister of Labor, on Thursday urged workers to unite with Hizbullah's resistance to defend rights of the working class.
Hamadeh, who had resigned from Premier Fouad Saniora's majority government along with other ministers representing the Hizbullah-led opposition, made the call in a statement to workers on May Day. He said Labor Unions have been "under persisting political pressures that reflect the government's opposition to independence of the unions." "let us clinch hands … to defend the workers' rights," Hamadeh said. |
