Marcel Khalifah, the famous Arab music artist, for the first time in his 30-year music career, appeared on Egyptian Television as a guest on the show "Al Beit Betak" (The House Is Your House) hosted by the Egyptian journalist Mahmoud Saed.
According to the London daily Elaph, Marcel’s music is known all over the world. He tends to sing about social issues that matter to him and his oppressed people in Lebanon.

Marcel said that he is constantly working to accomplish something new and is always seeking new words and rhythms.

Marcel explained that he started loving music at a young age while listening to his grandfather, who was a fisherman, singing.   His mother realized that he had talent and bought him an "Oud" musical instrument, and he has been playing ever since.

Prior to his appearance on the Egyptian television, Marcel held a successful concert at the Egyptian Opera House before 1,400 fans.  Seats were sold at standing room only. Marcel dedicated a song called "Ya Hadi Al Eis" (Troupes Leader) to the Palestinian people commemorating 60 years of Israeli occupation. He also sang a number of his famous songs like "Jawaz Safar" (Passport), "muntasab Al Qamati Amshi" (Walking While Holding My Head High), and "Ya Bahryeh Haila Haila."

Marcel appreciates a variety of music styles, yet he thinks the style of music that is in stores and music channels falls under one type, which is “entertainment music.”

“Music that lasts through generations has strong meanings and effective words,” said Marcel.

Marcel admitted that he battles depression, but he believes that he should never give up and always have hope that things will eventually get better.
