BEIRUT, May 2 (KUNA) -- Lebanon has decided to apply to the UN for extending for a further year term activities of the UN Committee probing the assassination of former Premier Rafik Al-Hariri, Information Minister Ghazi Al-Areedi said on Tuesday.
Speaking on the heels of an extraordinary cabinet session held today, he said Premier Fuad Al-Siniora briefed the cabinet members on the recommendations of the Lebanese National Dialogue Conference and the agreement with parliament speaker Nabih Berri to relocate the dialogue sessions to the Central Laboratory headquarters.
He also briefed the cabinet on the outcomes of his official visit to Kuwait and on his contact with Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir.
Last December, the UN Security Council extended the Hariri probe term, which started on June 15, 2005, for a six-month period. (end) an. |
