Lebanon Erects Barricades Blocking Illegal Crossings to Syria

Lebanese troops and police patrols on Monday closed nine illegal over land crossings along the northern borders with Syria, the state-run National News Agency reported. The report said the operation, aimed at re-erecting barricades blocking the illegal crossing points, would persist for several days. Such barricades were erected last year, but rain and storms during the winter season knocked down most of them, the short report added without further elaboration.
