The General Federation of Labor Unions (GFLU) has threatened to go on strike May 7 if a pay dispute was not resolved.
"If the private sector rejected our legitimate demands, the workers will go on general strike on May 7," GFLU President Ghassan Ghosn said after a meeting at the federation's headquarters in Beirut on Wednesday. GFLU is holding talks with the country's organizations and trade unions to ensure maximum participation in the strike. Ghosn is seeking an increase in the minimum monthly salary from LL 300,000 to LL 960,000. |
