Israeli authorities have said that two Palestinians who admitted to plotting to poison customers at a restaurant near Tel Aviv were recruited by a cell financed by Hizbullah.
The suspects Ahab Abu Ghial and Ans Salom, 21-year-olds from the West Bank town of Nablus, were arrested on March 19, days before they intended to carry out their plan at the restaurant where they worked, an official statement said. It said the men were recruited by a cell of Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, a militant group loosely linked to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement but that the cell was directed and financed by Hizbullah. |
