Head of Israel's Intelligence branch Maj. Gen. Amos Yadlin has warned of an imminent retaliatory attack against Israel by Hizbullah to avenge the killing of the Shiite group's top commander Imad Mughniyeh.
From past experience we know that many retaliatory terror attacks often come on the fortieth day following such an assassination," Yadlin said Tuesday. He told the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that recent violations at the Egyptian border with Gaza "has enabled Hamas to bring back to Gaza activists who were sent to undergo training in Syria and Iran, including snipers, explosives experts and engineers." According to Yadlin, al-Qaida operatives have also managed to infiltrate Gaza before Egypt closed the border. |
