Egyptian actress Cheri began her career as a young girl, appearing in television advertisements. She appeared in four television drama series during last Ramadan season that has jumpstarted her acting career.
Most significant was her role as Queen Nariman, King Farouq’s second wife, in the drama “Al Malik Farouq” (King Farouq). According to the London daily Elaph, Cheri was nominated for the role of Queen Nariman by writer Lamis Jabber. He also wrote the script for the drama series “Al Mursi Wal Bahar,” starring Cheri, alongside famous Egyptian actor Yahiya Al Fakharani. Cheri said that she was honored to have the opportunity to play such an important role, yet at the same time she was nervous about playing a major part of Egyptian history. Cheri had to learn every detail about her character, even personal matters.
Cheri then starred in the films “Kalashnikov” and “Kharej an Al Qanoon” (Defying the law), and will star in a new film “Hasan Wa Marqas” with famous Egyptian comedian Adel Imam.
Cheri said that she is looking for a husband, yet she wants to wait to get married. “I still have many dreams to accomplish in my acting career” she said. |
