Manama - The Foreign Ministry of Bahrain has issued a travel advisory , restricting travel to Lebanon as Saudi Arabia and Kuwait have done few days earlier.
Even though Bahrain’s advisory will not have the same impact as that of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, there is a big concern in Lebanon that this could lead to a domino effect and other Arab Gulf nations will follow suite . Bahrain said in its advisory that there are no Bahraini diplomats in Lebanon and cited the current political crises as the reason behind the advisory According to the local security authorities no threats were made against the Bahrain embassy or any Bahraini citizen, but the recent threats of an open war made by Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah may have served as a reminder of 2006 when Hezbollah kidnapped 2 Israeli soldiers and triggered the war with Israel. All the tourists had to leave in a hurry that year . |
