Beirut - The president of the National Liberal Party Dory Chamoun said DNA tests should be performed on Mughniyah’s body to make sure it was him who was killed in the the explosion in Damascus
"Before Secretary General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah goes to war, DNA tests should be performed on the body of Imad Mughniyah to make sure it was him who was killed in the explosion in Damascus , specially since he underwent several plastic surgery operations to disguise himself “. He told al Markaziyah news agency Chamoun ( Pictured) added : “ In any case it is forbidden for anyone including Hezbollah to declare war on any state . Hezbollah does not own Lebanon and has no right to declare such a war. Only the Lebanese government has the right to do so Following the assassination of Mughniyah Nasrallah declared an open war on Israel . Commenting on Saudi Arabia’s advisory regarding travel to Lebanon , Chamoun said “ I do understand their concern and the kingdom has the full right to protect its citizens “ He added “ but unfortunately the Saudi advisory sent the wrong message to the Syrian regime telling them you they succeeded in destabilizing Lebanon”. Chamoun said : “ The Saudi government should instead have issued a travel advisory instructing the Saudi citizens to refrain from travel to Syria and should have boycotted Syria economically since it is the reason behind the Lebanese crises.
According to intelligence reports, Mughniyah, was considered particularly cautious and suspicious. He surrounded himself with rings of bodyguards and didn't trust anyone, not even his most loyal subordinates. He carried many passports, apparently underwent plastic surgery to change his appearance, never traveled the same route twice, and changed safe houses the way other people change their socks. Mughniyah was also known for his caution during phone calls. In the 2006 Lebanon War between Hezbollah and Israel he was particularly careful to avoid using phones, and exchanged coded commands and instructions through couriers. This is why his assassination is a mystery . Many observers in Lebanon are of the opinion that such a crime could never taken place in Syria without the full knowledge of the Syrian intelligence. Former Syrian VP Abdel halim Kaddam accused the Syrian regime of being behind the assassination |
