The Israeli regime claims that Hezbollah has managed to deploy large numbers of rockets and anti-tank missiles in southern Lebanon.
"A large number of Katyusha rockets and anti-tank missiles have been smuggled into the south of the Litani River despite the increased presence of the UN peacekeepers since the end of the 2006 summer war," The Haaretz quoted senior Israel military officers as saying on Sunday. The officers claimed that Hezbollah has 'systematically' deployed arms to the area in trucks marked as civilian supplies. Massive use of such missiles, the report went on to say, would slow down any Israeli military incursion into Lebanon. The allegations came while the recently published Winograd report admitted 'failures and flaws' in the 33-day Israeli war against Lebanon. During the war, Israeli officials claimed that they had considerably destroyed Hezbollah's military might and pushed them into the north of the Litani River. SB/RE |
