NEW DELHI: Internet services in India and Middle East have been restored completely after the Flag Telecom, a subsidiary of Reliance communications, repaired its damaged Europe-Asia cable and Falcon cable.
Flag Telecom on Sunday said its Europe-Asia cable and the Falcon cable which were damaged on the Egyptian coast have been repaired completely. Internet services in India and the Middle East were disrupted after the two undersea cables were damaged. The damage to the Europe-Asia cable was reported on January 30, while the Falcon cable was severed on February 1. The repair work was completed on Saturday, way ahead of schedule, Flag Telecom said in a statement. "Flag repair crew of optical engineers, telecom and marine experts have been operating in rough weather conditions to restore normal operations," it added. Flag also announced that the Mediterranean cable network would be fully resilient with the addition of Flag Mediterranean Cable currently under implementation. |
