France for Speedy Election of Suleiman President

French Charge D'affaire Andre Parrant on Friday called for speedy election of Army Commander Gen. Michel Suleiman President. Parrant, in remarks to reporters after talks with ex-President Amin Gemayel, also called for working out an agreement on forming a national unity government "within the framework outlined by the Arab initiative." He said Paris was ready to help Lebanon cope with social and economic difficulties the nation is facing due to the ongoing political crisis.
