“I divorced my husband because he forgot my birthday,” journalist Nidal Al Ahmadyeh told the host of the television show “Tdid Al Tayar” (Against the Sector) Wafa’ Al Kilani, according to the London daily Elaph. Yet Nidal clarified that forgetting her birthday was not the main reason she asked for the separation, but rather a buildup of issues, which eventually led her to a point where she could not handle it any longer.
This is the first time Al Ahmadyeh spoke about her private life on television, yet she avoided discussing other family matters.
Al Ahmadyeh stated that she is furious with television show host Toni Khalifah for publishing a letter in his magazine advising her not be pulled by her personal and work related problems.
Al Ahmadyeh and Toni came to terms, and she later appeared as was a guest on his show. During the program Wafa’ seemed sure of herself, because she was prepared for the interview, as was Al Ahmadyeh. Nidal talked about how her father was murdered in front of her, describing how he took his last breathe in her arms.
Al Ahmadyeh discussed her relation with celebrities, citing that in her opinion 99-percent of actors are decent people. She also discussed her differences with sexy Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi. When asked about the differences between her and Haifa and if there is a chance for reconciliation, Nidal simply stated if Lebanon and Israel settle she will settle hers with Haifa.
Al Ahmadyeh has criticized Wafa for praising the singer Ahlam. Al Ahmadyeh stated that Ahlam can not be considered as an art symbol who stands for the purity, simply due to the fact that she was seen leaving a nightclub recently.
Nidal also described Ahlam as a liar, because the latter had allegedly made false accusations against Nidal during an interview. Nidal stressed that she intends on filing a lawsuit against Ahlam in several different Arab countries, including Beirut, United Arab Emirates and in Bahrain for attempting to tarnish her image.
With regards to Lebanese singer Najwa Karam, Nidal stated that she had always been a friend to Najwa but the latter did not treat her the same. She stressed that if Najwa does not change her attitude towards her (Nidal), she will reveal a lot of information about Najwa she had kept secret for long.
She is also on good terms with Syrian singer Asala, describing her as sweet. At the end of her interview she praised Lebanese singer Julia Butros. She admires what she has accomplished fundraising to help to those who lost loved ones during the July 2006 war between Lebanon and Israel. |
